Springfield is now an Association... 

Many of you may be wondering what is happening with the Springfield area as to the Vote for the Area Rep position and the Association proposal. Prior to our Area Rep voting had started, the Springfield area had submitted a proposal to the WVPW Executive Board of Directors to become an association. The initial proposal was denied due to the lack of participation on the Association Board of Directors. We allowed them to resubmit the proposal to be re-voted on. This message was sent to someone who was no longer on the Board. Once this message was sent to the proper individual, we began our voting process within the Board to either accept or deny the amended proposal. During the time frame of the eBoard voting window of 10 days, we needed to start our voting process of the Area Rep (non-Association) positions.

The eBoard vote ended with a unanimous yes vote, therefore cancelling the need for an Area Rep for Springfield.

It is the position of the WVPW Board of Directors to not modify or alter the proposal set forth to the board on who is going to oversee the Association Board.

We would like to acknowledge all those who voted for the Area Rep position for it was a very close vote (less than 3 votes). We did conclude though that if the association would have not been approved, we would have had a re-vote due to the closeness of the vote and the method of the voting. This would not have been because we were looking for different results, we would have wanted to confirm the wishes of the Area.

For all those who voted in the Area Rep vote, we all encourage you to take part in the new association. Volunteer to make Springfield a better program. If you have problems with the new association, please take them up with the newly formed Association Board of Directors as noted below.
